After hearing Francesco preach in the Church of San Rufino in Assisi, a young child named Clare became deeply touched by his simple message. In 1211, in the age of 17, Clare established an order of Poor Clares, a monastic religious order for ladies in the Franciscan norm. Clare's faith blossomed under Francesco's teachings. The order of Poor Clares has found worldwide.
