I must admit to being just a little bit schizophrenic about certain ideas. For instance, Really like the Safari web browser, Mail.app, and iChat. But do I use them? Not all the time. Instead I usually see myself using Camino for web browsing, Thunderbird for email, and Adium for chatting. Apple's applications absolutely good, nonetheless just like other free options more satisfying.
